10 Dental Marketing Strategies
Improve your productivity today!
10. Guide the morning huddle.
Every morning before you start your day, each member of your staff should all have a role in the morning huddle. Roles can include: addressing any mentioned patient concerns, the status of pending treatment plans, and current internal marketing strategies.
Give each staff member a goal of the day. For a front desk employee, you may ask that they hand out a promotional item or ask for a certain amount of referrals. For an assistant, it may be to educate each patient about your current whitening special. By telling your staff exactly how to contribute, you will promote teamwork and increase the productivity.
9. Optimize your website.
As you know, each new patient you treat is an opportunity for growth. In order to treat more patients, they have to be able to find you. By increasing your web presence, you can instantly improve the effectiveness of all of your marketing efforts. Ask about our search engine optimization.
8. Do something different for your patients.
Consumers still see dental care as a commodity. They think that their dental treatment will be the same no matter which dentist they see. They do not know why you are different and better, because YOU haven’t told them. Identity Dental Marketing can help you identify your unique selling proposition, and help your patients and prospective patients understand why they should choose you as their dentist.
7. Make sure your patients know what you can do.
I have seen patients come to their dentist for an exam AFTER receiving cosmetic procedures from another dentist. The only reason a patient would go to more than one dentist is if they weren’t sure what you offer. It’s important to utilize your office space to educate the patient on who you are and what you can do. It’s also important to keep the office appearing uncluttered and clean.
6. Train your staff to be sales minded.
Many times dental office staff forget that they are selling oral health. They forget that if their patients don’t get the treatment they need, that their condition will get worse. Do your employees focus on patients’ financial situation instead of the treatment they need? If your staff doesn’t value your services at what they cost, your patients won’t either. Providing sales training for your staff can almost immediately improve your conversion rates and increase profitability.
5. Consider your image.
When a prospective patient sees you, what do they think? Is your image attracting the right kind of patients? Does it attract patients that value and will pay for dental care? Every time you or your staff makes an impression it affects your business’ reputation and it either helps or it hurts. Your logo and graphic design can contribute to your brand or it can go against what you represent. Make sure you are sending the right message.
4. Experience your new patient experience.
Hire a friend or family member to call your office and come in as a new patient. Ask them to answer certain questions about their experience. This will help you gain important insight on how you can improve your business.
3. K.I.T.
Keep in touch with your patients! Establish an effective recall system in your office and employ methods for accountability. Utilize technology like email newsletters to stay in contact.
